35th Annual

   il Grande Carnevale

   March 1, 2014
5:11 pm

Venice’s Carnevale is a free-style, exuberant festival, where people, decked out in colorful costumes and decorative masks of their own design and selection, celebrate without pretenses or set guidelines. Essentially, participants can be whatever they want to be, and for that reason, our theme this year is no theme.  The possibilities are endless.

Social Hour

Carnevale begins at 5:11 pm in the Galleria with a social hour (cash bar) during which the Italian Conference Center’s scrumptious hors d’oeuvres are served, after which, attendees are invited to enter the Pompeii Grand Ballroom for a highly-anticipated visit from I Bei Bambini and the Children of Carnevale, and of course, a sumptuous dinner.

Dinner features an Italian Salad, a double entrée of Petite Filet and Chicken Piccata, Double Baked Potato, Chef’s Choice of Vegetables, Italian Bread, Coffee, Tea or Milk, and of course, Dessert.  Red and White Wine will be on the table for your enjoyment.

Royal Procession & Coronation of Royalty

The highlight of the evening will be the coronation of the 2014 Royalty.

Re & Regina (King & Queen):  Dan and Chris Conley
Nonno e Nonna (Royal Grandparents):   Charles and Doris Evans
Principe (Prince):   Frank Purpora
Principessa (Princess):   Benedetta Cannestra
Piccolo Principe (Junior Prince):   Jack Elliott
Piccola Principessa (Junior Princess):   Marie Vella

I Gran Marescialli:   Dean Cannestra and Marie Lieber
Il Vescovo (The Bishop):  Frank D’Amato

Spend the Evening on the Dance Floor

The colorful coronation ceremony of the ICC’s 2014 royalty will be followed by an evening of dancing to the Bill Sargent Big Band – long recognized as one of the premier dance bands in southeastern Wisconsin, and also performances by Milwaukee’s Italian folk dance group – Tradizione Vivente, late-night fireworks by Bartolotta Fireworks to light up the sky, and an abundant sweets table – courtesy of Piccola Principessa Maria Vella, her family & Sciortino’s Bakery.
