Art in Public Places, Inc. (AiPP) on behalf of the public art initiative for the City of Bend, Oregon seeks to commission a permanent large scale work of art for the roundabout (traffic circle) at Mt. Washington Drive & Simpson in Bend, Oregon. This is an open competition for professional artists residing in the Northwest United States, specifically the states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Northern California.

The Camera Club of New York (CCNY) is pleased to announce an open call for entries for its Annual National Photography Competition. Photographers and photo-based artists working in any genre are eligible to apply. Applicants are encouraged to submit a cohesive body of work. This year’s jurors will be photo editor and curator Elisabeth Biondi and photographer Martine Fougeron. Selected applicants will be featured in an exhibition at the CCNY gallery in the summer of 2012 and on our website. The first place selection will receive $500. Deadline is 11:59pm, June 4, 2012.

Columbia Center for the Arts hosts a regional Paint Out and month-long Gallery Exhibition in downtown Hood River, Oregon. Show Reception and Awards commence Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5-8pm.
